HL IR Battle System into a HL BB Panther G

Hi all

I am trying to install a Heng Long IR Battle system into my HL Panther G to battle my kids Panzer IV.

My Panther is of course BB - I was of the opinion that I could just replace the fire light in the gun mantle with the emitter and fit receiver into the cuppola.

It is not that simple!

A) I think i need an extra wire loom to go from the RX18 to the Battle System take off.

B) the HL Battle system receiver holder does not readily screw into place in the Panther - may have to chop and change the BB feeder?

C) I was going to keep BB and just use the IR without gun recoil and flash - I guess now this is probably not possible.

Is there an easier way to do this - Is the Panther IR turret made up different to BB?

Shucks - I was going for a easy bolt in mod .. not so!

So has anyone modded a HL Panth G to use HL Infrared? I cannot be the first!

Hi Xrad

All I did was bolt on an IR Turret instead of a BB hardly a conversion.

One thing to note in my current wiring config the tank only fires IR beams with K button and I have not got the flash with that (although it is installed, I do believe I need to mess about with the rccommand diode mod across board to make it fire on left lever up and make gun flash)

Thats far too tricky .. K is fine!!

I think you are right about the diode..not a big challenge to do.

One of my favorite mods is the ARM unit install to eliminate the the track recoil...I think you would loose the 'hit' recoil as well..

but less stress on motors and tracks..etc..
