I am not sure about other markets in the world but here in Canada, the HL Stug III is only offered in an IR version.

I am interested to know if anyone has anyone converted one to airsoft and if so, what is involved?

You would need the airsoft unit from the Panther I believe. The airsoft should connect the same way as the recoil unit.
I'm not sure what you would do for a barrel, probably have to cut down the insert from an older HL?

I don't have either tank tho, so this is all just theoretical based on pictures I have seen...
