Does anybody know, or can shed any light on various rumours of a chally 2 and cromwell full option from Tamiya ive been hearing about?
Is it pure rumour mill whirring, or is there any truth in it?
Thanks in advance
Alex

Unfortunately at the Shizuoka model show Tamiya didn't have any new 1/16 tanks to show, and thats where they generally announce new models.
They did show their new range of 1/25 IR battle tanks, but sadly nothing larger except their new range of metal tracks, that look exactly like Impact or Kenny Kong's, but are twice the price
I was hoping for a Cromwell, sadly Tamiya don't seem to make models that the community want.
Cheers,
Rik

Hi Are the 1/25 Tamiya I.R. tanks using the same code, can they battle with there big brothers. If they can this would be a cheaper way to convert some tanks 1/16 smaller tanks, like the Stuart and Hetzer.

Perhaps Tamiya think the hobby is in decline. The Germans are catered for, you can tell that the hobby is bigger there by the quality of the aftermarket suff produced there, hence Tamiya making some modern stuff like Gepard, Leopard A4 and Leopard 2 a6.

There are always Tamiya rumours around. I've heard the bit about the Chally 2 (but not the Cromwell) before, but there is also the rumour that the Gepard and Leo 1 are being re-introduced.
However it is a well known fact that Mr Tamiya does not give a hoot what his customers want or what the best selling tanks internationally would be. It is also true that tanks in 1/16 scale are a very small percentage of his total sales.
Personally I never believe anything I hear about Tamiya until I see it, but I would be very pleased to see them do a T55 as Hooben are obviously incapable of producing one!

lol
Hooben are rubbish, they emailed me asking me to send money for one (I had shown interest in one) so I told them to send one and i'd paypal on arrival, didn't fancy that but I don't trust them...
As for Tamiya, I heard about the Gepard/Leopard etc being re-released with new brains but no other new ones.
