Not that I would insult your admirable work, but have you considered buying a new hull and turret? I have contacted AAF Museum in the US, they are great about getting in parts for teh Sherman- even for my first gen, hull and turret would only cost me $26 US. I've already ordered replacement tires from them- less than $20, and this is for a 1974 release (the RT1601, or 56001 if you prefer).
What did you use to weaken/release the glue? Sure seems to have worked....

Thanks for your comment I have tried to texture the turret ,before the primer dry's I stipple it with a hard brush then using the handle I put dents and other marks in then leve for 24 hour . The good thing is if it turns ouy crap you can easly sand it off
