Hi Guys just been surfing and noticed that the Porsche Tiger prototype had sprockets front and rear ,The question is which ones did the driving ,the reason I ask is the shape of the hull, if its front drive the tracks must have been very close to the upper hull when under load and the tracks pulled the slack from the top
regards pete
I suppose the Elephant must have been the same

Thank-you Aaron. I like to collect the line drawings of the different design so that link is a great bonus for me, Cheers Blake

Hi After seeing that site and the write up ,it looks like rear drive via electric motors, this thing must have real bad on fuel, 2 V10 air cooled engines to drive the generators to drive the electric motors(this must one of the worst combinations Porsche designed). You can bet if Heng long made one they would put the gearboxes at the front.

if you read through you will find it was a total failure
It was slow, kept breaking down and had to be towed from the trials because it kept bogging down..
As for H/L,im sure even they would realise it can't be front drive..lol

I remember reading somewhere that Germany's sever copper shortage helped kill the program as well, and push the Henschel design to win.
Cheers,
