Transmitter for Tamiya Tiger 1

My Tiger 1 is nearing completion although I am still waiting on a Glacis Plate from Tamiya town that I ordered 3 weeks ago but seems to be captive in the doldrums somewhere. I will be looking to buy a transmitter soon and I would like to ask the members what is the most suitable type and where I could buy one. I have recently bought a Tamiya Sherman and I would like to use the Tx on that too as I won't be running both tanks at the same time. Many thanks Mark

get a 2.4 gig radio then you dont have to worry about changing chrystals at meets
I use a Planet 2.4 gGhz T5 for my tanks and have fitted fire buttons to the top

Paul's (Septon) mate sells them for £55 with the left hand stick modded to spring back to the centre when you let go of it

Hi Just to point out the planet 5 systems only have 1 model memory ,but they are so cheap you can have one for each tank.

regards pete

I use a Futaba 6EX for mine. It has a 10 model memory, which is handy. The unit and one receiver cost me about £150, but you can usually get them a bit cheaper on ebay. Once you have the transmitter, you can pick up additional receivers for about £50.
It also uses the Futaba 2.4Ghz FASST system, and is very easy to add additional receivers to.

I know a lot of guys on here use the Spektrum system as well, which is fairly similar.

Cheers,
Rik
