El Mod with recoil unit help needed

HI guys. Havent posted for a while but I hope somone on here can help me with a little problem I am havving with my Elmod installation. I have one of the all in one recoil units fitted to my Heng Long Panzer IV. Everthiing was working fine with the origional electronics but I have now installed a complete elmod set-up. Now if I fire the main gun by moving the left hand stick up/right the gun fires and recoils correctly but then the barrell does not return to its extended position. To make the barrell extend I have to pull and hold the left stick backwards. There must be a way to make the main gun recoil and return in one movement. The recoil unit was origionally connected to the BB gun switch on the turret but I have done away with the switch and connected the 2 wires leading to the switch directly to each other. There are 3 wires that come from the recoil unit and connect to the tiny square bit of circuit board that is screwed to the inside of the hull (near to the turret turning motor). There is also a black wire that I have to connect to the negative side of the battery. This little problem has already cost me an elmod TLS unit that I fried by connecting things incorrectly so I don't fancy making any more expensive mistakes :-[. So how do I connect the recoil unit so that it works correctly with elmod ( I have booster/TLS/Blaster and battle unit and am using it with origional heng long electronics)

If any body knows how to do this and can expalin it in simple terms to me (electronics novice) I would be very, very grateful

All the best
Glyn

i had the same problem  ,to solve it  undo the wires you have joined together that used to go to the switch and join the + wire[ think its the white one ] to a permenent live feed , i went for the middle of the main on and off switch, you can junk the other wire

Thanks Icemonkey. Yes I know you posted an answer on RC universe. Problem was that I did not know what to do with the other wire from the switch so in a moment of utter madness I joined both to a live feed and then sat back and watched as my Elmod TLS unit fried in a puff of black smoke. I wont be making that mistake again (hopefully).

So you say I can just junk the other wire. I notice in your answer on RCU you said that you thought the +wire was the blue one wheras in this reply you say you think its the white one. Is there an easy way (remember I am an electronics novice) to find out which of the 2 wires are the + and if I make a mistake and connect the -ve will this possibly fry the TLS like last time.

Really appreciate your help by the way  :)

PS do you want to buy a used TLS unit? one carefull owner, slight scorch marks LOL

hi,  another possibility is you have not put the jumper on, on the tls, if your not using a recoil(which you are)you have to remove the jumper. here is apicture of the tls instructions. plus, have you got some diodes wired in from your recoil ?, i used a tam' recoil and thomas at elmod said to wire some in, a diagram is on his site
