This is a Sturmgeschütz IV that I built by mating a Sturmgeschütz III and a PzKpfw IV upper chassie, and the pics show my Sturmgeschütz IV in its present state. It belongs to the 5. SS Pz.Gren.Div. and the marking, the Yellow 21, was simply made with the decal set,that I had at home. I've made no research or so if the numbering is correct and don't intend to either, I'll leave it the way it is.

The build took about three months to complete.

However, there are a few things that I want to fix (the places marked with red!):

-In the front the tow shackels and the headlight cover
-On the sides the return rollers - from early to late steel ones - and the fit to the lower chassie in the front and back, not to forget the spare track holders - they don't hang straight - and the tip of the main gun cleaning rod - wrong colour
-In the rear the turret rotation motor - will be removed - and the paint job on the rear lights
-On the top the commander's cupola - make it look more realistic - and the front sight of the MG42 - it was broken off about two months ago.

Finally three more pics of the Sturmgeschütz IV without the places to correct.

I added 22 kill rings to the gun barrel, which I bought from tank-modellbau.de, since I decided that my StuG crew was an experienced one!

The soldier is a 1:18 scale figure, that a friend gave to me, I plan on fixing him up as well when I have the time.

Sorry my mistake I did not look at the picture properly, I just assumed it was an aisatam hull, it is not it is an HL hull

For those who are intrested, I might as well show a selected row of pics from the build of my Sturmgeschütz IV.

It involves alot of sawing, grinding, cutting etc., in other words alot of hard work! But in the end, even though it is now possible to buy a Sturmgeschütz IV upper hull from Asiatam, building one yourself makes the end result worth every minute of work.

The three first pics show the materials that I started with, the drivers compartment and the roadwheel holder...

...and the last three show my solution to the problem of the gearboxes not wanting to stay inside the Sturmgeschütz IV upper chassie. The areas in the red circles were removed and grinded in order to make the gearboxes fit, and the plastic part on the right hand side of the hull was glued on in order to hide the gearboxes from sight. The driver's compartment also helped hiding the gearboxes from sight, as well as leaving enough space for them to fit inside the upper chassie.

Hi mate if you fit the Stug III gearboxes they sit lower than the standard HL Pz.IV ones . I had to do this in my Pz.III / Stug III conversion . Love your tank . Ive always thought of mating the HL Stug III top onto the HL Pz.IV top . To produce the Stug IV .
