i recieved a pm from matt today to ask me for my personal details

i have refused ....and here is a copy of my reply to his pm

do you understand the data protection act of 1998 and update in 2006 ... its an offence to ask for details of internet clubs member to suppy personal details like address tel number and full name.. its an offence because the govement are trying to stop internet fraud and idenenty fheft .. you do not have a protected server . for incrypted transactions like a bank .. its very very dangerious to put any personal details in an email of a pm ..as it can be read by phishers

i would strongly advise you to with draw that request 

i will not supply thouse detail ... so dont ask

I think he just wants to get hold of you to arrange a meeting because there are a few of you in the local area .I and Matt understand anyones concerns about people stealing identity,But you could always e-mail him a phone No. or he could e.mail you his .I dont think he wanted any more than this .

i understand now, thanks, im 15 mcevoyi  so dont expect me to know the law inside out, and in the pm i didnt ask for your details, i said have you thought about joining up.

it was the news i asked.

no peopoe can get the pm's and tbo why would they want to. thats right they wouldnt.

if people give a phone number they i can phone them for details, i precisely said in the news that adresses dont have to be exact.

mcevoyi i think you over reacted abit, i would be more than happy to give matt my details, like phone no',  address, etc. its a thing called trust, and i for one would trust matt not to rob me of all my worldly goods. he can't (hehe sorry tony)  have my kids though . also there is no need to quote the data protection act at him, you could find yourself with egg on your face
