Track tensioners

Anyone ever made their own for an HL Tiger 1?
Since fitting that pair of Tamiya tracks to mine it runs miles better than on it's
original HL tracks.
It isn't that I'm too tight to buy any tensioners, but Mrs Miggers is having a good old moan
about me spending on what she calls a useless toy.
So if anyone has a design for a set of tensioners made from easily obtained bits and bobs
that doesn't require much more than drilling and fitting.........
I've access to lathes/CNC's or any gear of that ilk nowadays.
