I too have experimented with the best way to fit the suspension . Im also looking into the Sherman by mato for the tracks ( Nicks idea) . This picture shows the ply top and a cardboard mock up of the supurstructor which Im aiming to make from styrene . And all the hatches will hopefully open. I need to make the turret yet to but havent thought into that yet .

Thats looking excellent Andy! It's going to be a big bugger! lol

I cant wait to see this roll in and out of the water.
How were they powered in the water? Did they have propellers?
Cheers,
Rik

Hi Rik , Thanks its about the length of a Panther including the barrel and a bit wider. There was no propellors . They had scoops on the tracks , so with the tracks moving they moved through the water and then up the beach .
Andy
ps You can see we have a big job making these

To be Honest Andy at one point I did consider fitting a wee propeller at the rear some how. However this wouldnt be in the spirit of the LVT now would it LOL. One thing I did learn from some of the photos you sent me. The outer flat portion of the upper hull is actually very thin, Which I suppose accounts for the ribs along the sides. Its curved round at the sides which gives the impression of a thicker sheet of metal. However Im not going to fret too much about this ! Cracking job so far mate
Nick
