Hello Mart, what are you using for building material? I was thinking of the post that uses baking soda as a texture, might work well for the stone walls, just thinking about using methods that are predictable. The window frames seem heavy duty,or larger than modern buildings, will follow with interest.Blake

Hey Blake,
I'm using foam core board from my local grocery store (~$4 per sheet), painted with a mix of spray enamel and stone effect paints from my local hardware store.
Ideally I'd like to do this out of plywood, but I don't have space for a woodwork shop
The foam core board warps when sprayed with the stone effect paint, as it is rather 'wet' and causes the top layer of card to swell and stretch the board. I've tried to coat the board with the enamel first to help seal it - it helps some but you still have to take care and build up the stone paint slowly.

I was curious how you would get that effect, and wondered about the reaction to liquid of cardboard type material.I also have very little room at this point, but soon the twins will be going away to school.Hopefully I can arrange to build a workshop. Most of my hobby stuff is confined to a covered area outside, one workbench about 3x6.But it is better than nothing and it works out ok.I'm interested in the diorama type builds, and would love to convert A section of the back yard into the EASTERN front.Good luck with your build I will be following with interest. Blake

its a 21st Cent 1/18 scale Panther - the barrel isn't as short as it looks, another trick of the camera
