Stug Crew

I did not like the crew I got with the Stug 111, so I decided to change them using some parts and one of the old rubbery Tiger Commanders that came with the original HL tanks.

First up is the Commander,

The commander is the original Stug Commander body with a rubbery head and right arm. Miliput'ed the shoulder and neck, added some goggles and could not resist an eye patch.

Then the gunner,

He is the rubbery body with the Stug Crewmans head, then some miliput arms.

And together

Not very good at painting figures but they pass from a distance and I'm a lot happier with them than the guys with the puppy that came with the Stug.

Hope you guys like them.

Dave

I like them Dave, the figures are difficult to paint for me as well. For Christmas I received a very nice Premier Edition KIRIN 120mm set of a Tiger Turret with Wittman and Woll. I have been practicing on the H/L figures but so far I have not been able to create a figure worth looking at. The facial expressions are difficult to paint, the uniforms are not to difficult but I am open to any advice? Blake

Hi Dave it was a picture in a Stug modeling book gave me the idea or the blonde one . Then it sort of took of . Its not hard just remove the cap and sculpture the hair from milliput.

This is the first time I've messed around with washes after painting and I'm now a convert, for a bad painter like myself it hides a lot of sins.

I didn't like the "commander giving puppy in crewman's arms some candy" figures either...and since then I've been looking for the perfect tank crew. I've also done some experimenting by "slaughtering" one of my two HL IR recieving units and gluing the bottom of it to the bottom of a tank commander figure, but that didn't turn out very well either, although he sat more steady in his commander's copula.

But every problem has a solution... :~
