El Mod Info

Hi all,

Can someone point me in the right direction for a detailed oversight on the El Mod upgrade that I keep hearing about please?

I'm not an electronics person and I'm about as much good as a fart in a space suit with a soldering iron, so on a scale of 1-10 how difficult would it be for someone like me to convert my HL Tiger 1 late edition with the El Mod? And how much will it cost me?

Thanks guys,

Doodle

heres the link that will explain all about elmod

there are two options keep 1 you fit elmod with h/l rx board, this way you keep your hl tx but you get some of the elmod improvements , 2, you go for the full elmod install , then you get the works, but this does mean getting a tx and a rx as well so it does work out more expensive
here is a link to out elmod section

I created this site just for people who are concerned about what is involved. Difficulty level is abou 3-4 I'd say, even if you have no previous electronics experience, I certainly didn't!

Be assured, there isn't any soldering unless you want there to be.

Its just that soldering two wires together rather than using block connectors will both give a stronger joint, and therefore a more reliable circuit.

For successfull soldering, always slide heatshrink over one end of one wire and push it back out of the way, then dip both bare ends in flux, apply solder to the soldering iron, and hold both wires overlapping, then hold the soldering iron against the joint. The flux will allow the solder to flow through the joint.

When cool, pull the heatshrink over the joint, and waft a flame over it.

Job done.
