hi guys i would like your opinions , i dont want to start the tamiya v henglong battle but what would you go for £700 tamiya panther , which would still need upgrades or the hl panther ir model £100, with all the upgrades plus elmod £ tba, im thinking for £500 you could end up with a nice hl panther, ive got two elmod set ups with a 2.4 ghz futaba 7c so i wouldnt need the tx, plus i dont know how well the tamiya set up would work with the digital trims ?
your opinions please
all the best, cliff

well the guy i bought from stopped selling tamiya tanks about a year after i bought it, and shipping was about £100, but that was only becuase i also bought a transmitter and 2 batteries.
cheers ,
Matt
p.s. if you got the HL one, a ally hull would be good, because thats the main difference bar electronics (which el-mod would probably be better anyway)

I would be tempted to go for a HL Panther and buy Tamiya DMD & MFU for it (Tiger, KTiger or Panther). I think they could both be had for less than £180-£190 from Jason's store on e-bay last time I looked. You could use the HL turret-turn, gun elevation, MG with the MFU and the recoil too if you get the IR version of Panther.
Cheers

I've done that with a few of my HL tanks now. You will need a communications cord as well to join the DMD and MFU together. And some compatible plugs and sockets to stick on the HL wiring to connect to the DMD/MFU (or solder the wires directly to the MFU circuit board

- I did it once but don't recommend it!

.
