Hello all,
I Have just placed my order for a tamiya Leo ( like Brel). I included the reinforcing kit and a few other odds and ends too, and am looking forward to getting stuck in. Had look thru the forum, and theres a wealth of knowledge abundant. I hope i will be able to add something of value. This'll be my first RC tank, although I am a RC Heli flyer and back in the day was quite good at the 1/35 scale models.
My first post comes with a question, or two. Has any one fitted a barrel stabilizer to thier leo yet? do you have any pointers for me, as I have ordered one for mine. I went to e-tamiya for it A possible bargin at 80 quid, rather than the 200+ needed most other places.
Has anyone fitted the track support roller upgrade from AFV, are there any issues with it?

Brel, love what you have put on the site, Great insight for what to expect. I'll be looking again in more detail once I get started.

hi steve, welcome to the forum, and welcome to the world of rc tanks, be carefull they are addictive as ive found out, but as i also found out not as expensive to mend after a crash as rc planes

Thank you for the compliment.
I hope you have a lot of fun building the Leo and then running it, a word of advice about building the Leo kit, take your time and read the instructions over and over again, the gearbox is a bit of a pain to put together but once done it is well worth it, I am still trying to work out how the gearbox works with the three diffs in it.
I have the stablizer fitted to my leo and it is great with the main gun trying to stay level as the tank moves up and down,
forgebear has a leo as well and has spent a lot of time and effort to get it to look great,

I replaced the plastic idlers in my leo with the metal ones from AFV http://www.afv-model.com/4711shop/produ ... d-2A6.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I am still contemplating on buying the road wheel upgrade kit as well,
one thing I do reccomend is that you get the swing arm upgrade kit because the plastic swing arms with the kit are not strong enough

Firstly thanks for the warm welcome, nice to know your a friendly bunch. lol
I will make a start on the leo as soon as i can, I need it to arrive first, the lovely peeps at AFV seem to be the best priced, its comming with some of the upgrades too. Brel, i'll be doing the suspension upgrade in a while, idlers, bearrings and arms. to start with it'll get tensioners, and tub frame. I am starting from scratch on this so i'll be spending a flippin fortune, paint tools, brushes and air brush too. just gotta wait for it all to turn up. sadly i am onlt home weekends, (its the job) so it might take a while to get this going.
Thanks for the advice too. glad i'm not doing this on my own, was looking thru the instruction manual on line, and its much more envolved than the toyota grb4 i did 10 years ago. should be fun.
