Dunno about that but I know I'm like a kid at Christmas waiting for the series to start!! It is a great piece of kit though, I think I had an airfix 1/72 version as a kid with a jeep inside.

My absolute all time favourite vehicles ! I have been obsessed with these since I had the same Airfix one as a kid. There are a couple of versions in 1/35. orginally produced by Nitto, then an American manufacturer called modelcraft, then Revell and finally the same moulds as all the others are used by Italeri !, I know because Im looking at one of each unmade in their boxes, on my "to do" shelf. I am currently mulling over a few possible scratchbuild ideas. The Big clincher on this one would be the tracks. Naturally any model would have to "swim" or what would be the point ?? :-) So they would have to have the cupped cleats on them wouldnt they (other Idea I had would be a having a discreet little propellor hidden under the hull. Be a big bugger in 1/16th too. Now, many years ago in the time of Warlord comic and The Proffesionals, I built a Nitto kit and put a leccy motor in it. (the Nitto kits had flexible rubber tracks, that where replaced by harder less flexible ones with the other manufacturers) and got it to run along and even Float and swim in the bath....! Still got that model and always dreamed of making an RC version. Lo and behold along comes t'interweb and TA DA !! some clever buggers beaten my too it and a bloody good job too.

So Im a plotting and a planning :-) and one day will be crossing the 1/16 Rhine !

Dont worry Abo, i have seen the first 3 episodes now and it is just as good as Band Of Brothers, i dont think they have introduced the characters as much in this one, but the battle scenes are very intense, what i like is it shows just how different the war in the Pacific was to the war in Europe, it gets 10/10 from me so far

Seen the first two Eps too, Big fan of Band of Brothers here. I think its different in that the story isnt as connected as Ambroses' work. Though its obvious that Spielberg and Hanks have put as much passion and want for the look feel and history to be as right as possible. A classic in its own right in the making. Like Keith says its a world away from the european conflict. Bring on the Amtracs

Its not what you know mate, its who ;)........anyway back to LVT's
anyone know a source of good line drawings or plans for AFV's specifically the LVT series ?
Im seriously thinking about a scratch build. Especially as the 1st Northants Yeomanry traded in their Shermans for Buffaloes towards the end of the War and Op Varsity. Think its going to be a monstrous project but I have a few ideas re the tracks and the ability to swim :D
