well hello to all, quick question. speaking from your heng long tank experiences, what kind of tx/reciever range can i expect? currently i am getting about 30 foot. is this average or do i have a problem.......batteries maybe ...........cheers again, malc.......a new tank addict.

Thats about the range, though the angle/height at which you hold the tx has an effect. I have been reading about mods that people have done with internal coiled aerials on their HL tanks, and some have got 60ft, or even being able to start the tank in a basement when they are on the ground floor.

The internal copper wire wound aerials works much better for me.Did this mod several months back and the increased range is almost double,50ft or more total range.But much better than stock aerials. Blake

I now have some suitable copper wire and will give this a go, I will let you know how I get on.

On a good day I drove my T1 over 50ft away without an arial attached. It was some years ago and people were asking about range so I thought I'd try it.

I could have gone further but I'm a lazy bugger and didn't want to walk too far to get it when it lost the signal.

Also this was in a big open field with no buildings around. I found that they have less range indoors or in built up areas (probably due to interference).

so where do i get one of these internal copper wound aerials, or, is it a mod i can make myself..........cheers for the help

Hi Sometimes the range will come down if you have done mods to your tank,metal tracks, metal gears, metal suspension ,My Panzer3 which has metal schurzen fell to about 15ft because of this so had to fit a darkth system that let me use 2,4ghz radio its out of sight and still going now.So bare this in mind ,have you put alot of metal on if so this can make the range drop (Fariday field)effect ,the only way to regain it is with a better ariel .

Well i was testing my Heng Long Jagdpanther today in the factory at work, with no upper hull fitted and no antenna plugged in, and with "Fynsdad" as my witness the tank went from one end of the factory to the other, we think between 80-90 feet

Internal antenna,works for me.I have alot of metal on my Tiger,Hull,gearbox,tracks,sprockets,wheels,gun,and it's good for 50-60 feet.
