My other tank is a Porsche

Post by grompix »

Hi Folks

I haven’t done anything in the way of RC-Tanks in a while so I thought I’d dig out one of my unfinished projects. This is another build I started some time ago but never finished (does anyone else do this or is it just me?).

The reason I chose this one is the possibly imminent arrival of Hooben’s 1-16th scale Elefant and the availability of Asiatam’s Ferdinand/Elefant metal suspension units, wheels, sprockets and tracks. I’ve also been enviously watching Christian’s (Chris3’s) stunning Porsche Tiger/Ferdinand builds on this forum.

I finally gave in to temptation and bent the flexible-friend a bit more. When the Asiatam suspension units arrived I was fully hooked (again!).

This is what I’ve managed to get finished so-far. I was going to wait until I had completed it before posting some pics but I decided to post anyway as it’s beginning to look like an Elefant now. It is still very much WIP though. I’ll start a detailed build thread as soon as I have sorted out all the pics on my computer.

Hope you like it so far.

Cheers
Chris

Thanks for the comments chaps. Still haven't sorted out the pics for the build thread yet (too busy building the darn thing!) but I will soon. Here is a pic I took just a few minutes ago to whet your appetites. This was taken while the first dunkelgelb coat dried. I just love it when a project reaches this stage. It always looks so much better when all my bodge work is covered up with paint! :shifty:
Cheers
Chris.
