After lots of thought and looking at pictures i decided to make my Jagdpanther with the extra Anti Aircraft Armour on the rear deck, just to try something different  and so far i am quite proud of myself as i have never scratch built anything from brass before, i also brought a photo etch set, but it is very fiddly for what the wife calls my big fat sausage fingers :haha: so the really small parts will probably get left off :/ anyway this is where i am at the minute, i have moved the antenna, opened some hatches, fitted the armour and some of the photo etch.

Keith, looking really good. You made the armor guards from brass,or was it part of the photo etch set? Also which set did you buy?I am building my night fighter Jagdpanther and would like to add some finer detail. Thanks Blake

Hi Blake i made the armour from sheet brass from the local models shop, it thicker and easier to work with than the photo etch, the photo etch is from Steve at Welsh Dragon and it is the Impact set for the Tamiya Panther.

Cheers Rob i think i have a way to go before i get up to Septons standard of brass work but im happy with it for a first attemp  as for the solder i dont know :haha: :{ i'll have a look tomorrow, i've not had to solder much up to this point which is good for me because im crap at soldering

Got some more done today, got started on the tool racks, fitted the spare track holders and some of the other photo etch parts, the next couple of days will also be fitting photo etch and making sure nothing is going to fall off, as im going to be using this tank, not just admiring it :D

Quick thanks to fynsdad for soldering the spare track holders together (he makes it look so easy :-< ) and for showing me how to do welds

Forgot to ask, what trick on welds did Fynsdad show you.Do you mean soldiering brass or weld lines on the hull? Blake

The lines on the hull, i have never done welds before so after i got the milliput on Frank came along with his blunt pencil pushed it in the milliput and instant weld  I might have another crack at the soldering tomorrow as it dont look as hard as i have been making it, and the results look great 8)

Here is what im doing at the moment, making the photo etch ratchet things, these things a so small i have now gone cross eyed :haha: and i still have about 9 to make, these things are made up from 3 seperate pieces and the finished product is as big as, well have a look at the pic, it is next to a 1mm drill
