tamiya sherman recoil firefly

hi here are some pics of a tamiya sherman with a recoil unit fitted.
it was tricky to do but a lot of fun.
the top and bottom halves of the turret had to be separated as these are glued.
the turret is now held in place with magnets.
the recoil mech is the tamiya pershing.
the barrel is a impact firefly barrel.
i used a syringe , 8 magents , 19/32 brass tube ,old floppy drive outer case , superglue lots and lots.
the good thing is you still keep the gun elevation.

Just done that on my firefly but used a tiger 1 recoil but had too sacrifce the elevation, as i find that in the battles you very seldom use elevation or have time to use it in the middle of a firefight...................

Hi Just shows it can be done (so why didnt Tamiya do it )They have had this tank around a long time ,My Sherman has the heng long recoil and elevation unit from the Stug and works (but its one of the very old ones came with to1 dmd No Mf ).
