Just bought a 1/16 Tamiya static DAK Kubelwagen with Erwin Rommel and driver figure from the Crewe show yesterday. Has anybody out there done a conversion to R.C.? How difficult is it? Would anybody like to swap the desert balloon tyres and wheels for standard Western Europe ones. I would like to do a late model version as my main interest is WW11 from 1943 until the end of hostilities. Thanks guys Mark

Got one myself from ebay the other day - how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

You need a steering servo, the rc ones are rwd too.

Got an rc one, runs quite well!

I gave £50 for it which may have been a little expensive but I have seen it for a lot more than that, I am not sure but I think it may have been deleted from the current catalogue. Mark

I also have this kit, purchased back at Christmas from the local shop,60.00us.Its the Rommel one as well but they did have another version but not sure if it was eastern front or not.I intend to make mine a grey eastern front version,in the Grossdeutschland pictoral history book I have their is a picture with 10+ Kubels parked in a field all seem to be grey and have the G/D white helmut painted on the rear panel with unit numbers under the helmut. If you guy figure out how to RC I would very much like in on that modification process. Cheers Blake

Thanks guys. Just remembered there is a model shop in Formby that does mainly R/C cars so maybe I can get the running gear from there. I also have a couple of R/C cars in the loft that I could cannibalize but they will take some rooting out! Mark
