Easy JagdPanther antenne mod

Post by Steenv »

Hi there

Just wanted to share this easy antenna mod for the HL JagdPanther

The antenna base comes of easy, just press from the inside or carefully take it of with a flat screwdriver from the outside.

Once that is OK, you can drill with a 2mm drill a hole riht through the antenna base, where you can easily mount the original HL antenna through. I did bend the antenna after gluing it to the antenne base so that it nice and easy could go through the hole in the hull.

After this, you can solder the antenna wire onto the outside antenna, and there you go. Antenna on the correct place, and still doing what it was supposed to do

Also installed some stronger spring for the first 3 roadwheels and a supporter for the belts just behind the sprocket. After this, the belt is just lying smoothly on the JagdPanther.

cheers
Steen

so, I worked a little bit on my JP today. I wanted to relocate volume and power switch for my el-mod installation

This is how I did it
POWER SWITCH
Pressed out the left storage bin on the rear and cut open the top.

Made two holes for the wires to the switch, soldered the switch back on and hot glued the switch on to the rear plate.

Glued the stowage bin back into place and voila, the powerswitch is hidden away but very easy to get to.

also did some cleanup in the hull so that the cables are put aside nicely. This is not reflected in the picture, but that was how it enden up.

SOUND VOLUME Switch
Well, I just made a hole for the el-mod volume switch, and did hide et between the exhaust pipes. Not much to that, but it works.

The antenna mod, connets to the wire of the reciever so that the antenna is working

iNTERESTING MODS,I was debating on moving the antenne as I have stripped all the brackets off my Jagdpanther, and am considering th removal of the rear panel boxes and mufflers. Then a nice base coat, were the storage boxes difficult to remove? The hull bracket came off pretty easy after I ground off the inside pieces protruding through the hull. One did break out a small hull section but the putty put that right. What made you pick the dark grey color? Hi Blake

the storage boxes was quie easy to remove - I just used a small screwdriver to detach them, carefully pushing in between the box and the rearplate.

To the color, its tamiya german grey with no thinner. There is really no big thougts about that, I just like that coler for most my tanks

cheers
