Can anyone tell me which connectors on a RX18 board i need to fit the wires to get a led to flash then firing via the left stick (standaed setup) Cheers

I think you have to do the pin to pin diode jumper to get it to work w/left upstick. That is normally reserved for the bb fire function. Basically, you are using the bb motor fire to trigger the flash unit, and this needs a diode. There are other ways such as using a micro switch on the brown and yellow wires of the flash unit(more complicated, though) RCCommand has a nice write up and I posted it in my Stug III HL w/asiatam build.
