after a great Xmas day things sort of fell apart for me, this morning i took the son to work then parked up and went to the local model shop when i came back to my car i found a taxi parked in my boot!!!, the driver said sorry mate my fault and we swapped details' everything was calm and polite at this stage until i tried leaving the car-park.

as i drove along the exit road the taxi had parked on the pavement and as i came level with him he opened his door and off came my wing mirror and about 2 feet of paint from the passenger side door, (this is where things got a bit hectic) have you ever seen a 6ft 2in 14st guy trying to squeeze himself into a 2in gap in the top of a taxi window ?, if you had of been at the metro center gateshead this morning you would have!! although when the police arrived it seemed to give them a good laugh.

one of them had the cheek to ask if i had put a spare wing mirror on my Xmas list!!, so the moral of this story is if your son asks for a lift just say "BAH HUMBUG" and stay at home playing with your new tank.

Hello Oz,if this was the same taxi driver in both situations it would seem he was trying to cause the second crash in order to place fault on you,so he did it on purpose and should be drawn and quartered,head on a pike.How did the cops react? Did they fault the taxi driver?

yep it was the same taxi' gotta admit it is kinda funny, some of the shoppers that saw the first accident witnessed the second one and the look on their faces was a picture, even the police saw the funny side of things along with the wife my sister the brother and my neighbor I'm just a bit miffed as now i have no car for the next few days,

he made a statement to the police saying he was at fault AGAIN!! so thats OK, but the horrible thing about the whole situation is i now have to use public transport' those of you who have had a car for years will know what i mean, the wife said lucky no-one was in the backseat when he first hit the car' i say lucky i didn't have my new tanks on the backseat when he first hit the car.

Hi Oz Hire a car and stick it on the insurance bill ,state you cant use public transport tbecause of the times at which you need to travel.Because its his fault his insurance will pay,they have to.

That's to bad Tony,but I agree with Pete insurance should pay for a rental.The driver must be mental to cause to wrecks in as many minutes.Strange indeed.

Like Pete says hire a car and stick it on the taxi drivers insurance bill

If someone else is at fault then your intitled to a hire car, though you may have to press your insurance company about this as they try saving each other money by making jump through hoops to get one.

Look up 'Winns Solicitors' then give them a ring. You will have a hire car delivered to your door in a couple of hours, you will get full compensation, and better still you wont lose your no claims or insurance excess.

That Is unlucky oz, twice in one day by the same guy i know how you feel having no car as my alternator decided to pack up on christmas eve and i cannot get a new one until thursday now but on the bright side the wife cant get to the sales and i can spend time at home fitting all my new tank parts

Hi Oz. Yes his insurance should provide you with a rental car . I was involved in a none fault accident 2 years ago . A lorry ploughed into the side of my car , his fault but at the end of the day were all human and it was only an accident . He admitted responsability . My car was wrote of and I suffered the usually whiplash It was unfournute timing realy as Id just been made redundent and had got another job which I was to start in a weeks time . My insurance leagal solicitor started a claim against the other guy . This has just been seteled . But it all hinged on me having neck problems . The examiner said they could of been there before the accident so it was 50/50 . My solicitor said the only way to say other wise was to have a mri scan before the accident I said well next time I have an accident I will book in for one the day before . I did feel bad claiming but Ive been in accidents before which were not my fault and I just didnt bother as there was no issues . But im suffering from this one still or the slipped disk I had precvious ? Although ive never had the pains I have now before . I have since been layed off so out of work again after working all my life full time . And now with the pains finding it hard to find work again . A guy at the benefits sugested I did volentuary work , well that pays the bills ( Mind you I do volunter at my daughters school but its just helping them walk the children to places etc which isnt normaly far .) Or part time work with no lifting . So that narrows down the work choices even more ! Sorry for drolling on there . But You should get a car from the insurance . If you do keep all the receipts so you can claim any expenses back . I didnt bother with a rental car as I had my redundency so I just went and bought one.
