First of all, Sorry for the lousy pictures. I really need a better camera.

Okay now for some fun! Want that little extra detail? HOw about some really cool and simple weld lines? No putty and no fuss....well maybe a little fuss.

Get your self a bottle of liquid plastic glue. I used AMBROID PROWELD.

Next at your hobby store purchase some of the very thin plastic stips or better yet rounds.

In these pictures (bad as they are) I am applying a weld to the loaders periscope cover.

Just lay the strip of plastic along the joint. With a small brush apply the glue.

Wait about a minute, then trim the plastic to size.

Now apply the cement to the plastic again. After about ten seconds use the tip of your X-Acto to replicate the weld. Let dry and bang! You have a nice little weld line.

Good tips Don,is the small round strip flexible once the glue is applied? What I mean is can you form it around say the machine gun mount on a Jagdpanther? Then use your hobby knife method after piece has set/bonded to the object? Have you tried dipping the end of the rod in the bottle of glue to soften the rod enough to form around components? Am working on a Jagdpanther as you know and their are several seams that require welds.Sax

You sure can. Here is aother picture. Once the cement has saturated the plastic it is almost like an extremly thin line of putty.

Great idea. Theres an even cheaper method to getting the plastic strp in just the size you want though. If you make plastic model kits you'll probably have a few left over sprue's which hold the kit parts together in the box. Cut a peice off, hold it over a candle or flame until it starts to melt, rotate the sprue to ensure its evenly heated but dont let it burn. Once soft enough slowly pull the sprue apart and stretch out a thin length of plastic. Trim and use as above.

If you let the plastic cool a little before stretching you'll get a thicker strip.
