LED voltage question

Can any one tell me what voltage the mg LEDs run off, on the HL Tanks? Also what is the minimum/maximum voltage that you can safely run an LED off from the system ?

Cheers.

hi steiner
they work quite happily on 4.5v to 7.2v but you MUST have a 68 ohm resistor in series with the led or you'll pop them.

Thanks for that Ross. I just want to replace the current LED on the mg for a different colour. Would you happen to know what size (mm)the HL mg LEDs are and what voltage they can handle.

Cheers

the ones I've got are 5mm x 3mm dia and in red and yellow and like I said seem happy with 4.5v to 7.2v but don't forget the 60 ohm resistor.
cheers

and be sure to connect them the right way or they don't work (hence 'diode')

and if you want to dim the headlights or tailight (if you have one) add 1000 ohm r.
