Graupner Speed 400s

We are starting to see some great KV-1's now, brilliant attention to detail on yours, it just goes to show how the magic touch can transform a basic model.

Thanks guys. I'm dying to get her weathered up, but a few external parts are holding it up. I'm just glad I finally got the gearboxes in the mail and installed yesterday, making the KV a joy to drive.
Stay tuned for future updates.

Rocketman,
I got the machinegun from here:
http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/tank ... -863-p.asp
The gearboxes from here:
http://www.rccommand.com/Tank%20Upgrade%20Parts.php
And Ivan is actually Red Star from a 25th Anv GI Joe comic 2 pack. I found him at TRU by luck. I'm sure he can be found for cheap online since he is a pegwarmer.

For the price of the gearboxes ($79), you might want to look at Asiatam or even Tamiya. If you want cheaper, I run the $42 steel gearboxes from RcCommand in my Panzer III and Bulldog and feel they are worth the money. Not too sure the $79 3:1 gears are worth the $37 difference in price. The KV runs much better and smoother now, but the cheaper ones do that too.
