Another Camo Question !

Ok I started to paint my Jagdpanther, based it up with XF60 tinted with a little buff (did it slightly light to take into account the darkening up of the weathering), used Tamiya dark green and was sort of happy with it and then added tamiya brown . . . . . . . after half an hour with some Mr Muscle I now have a red oxide colour Jagd again ! (very impressed with the Mr M tip as it removed the Tamiya colour but left my Hycote Acrylic primer unscathed). Anyone any idea the best two camo colours to use for the attached photo ?? Any help apreciated, thanks. ??? :D p.s. dont laugh too much at poor colours as its my first ever camo attempt !

Tamiya XF 60 - Dark Yellow

XF 61 - Dark Green

XF 64 - Red Brown - its looks like you have used this colour already.

i like to use tamiya NATO green (XF67) and NATO brown (XF68) and desert yellow (XF59) on most German vehicles i do, the shades are very good and go together very well.

These are what I used over tinted Xf 60 , somehow thought they looked odd together, did I reach for the oven cleaner too quick ?? :D

I painted my Tiger in those three colours

The base colour ( Dark yellow was only slightly lightened )

It could be your camera but the dark green you have used looks grey. ( May be its my eyes )

Have you checked out Ozs painting and weathering thread in the Tips/tricks/painting. It would be a great help to you.

Yes it does look grey in photo's but its XF 61, may have looked odd because base was so light. ??? I did the camo free hand, would you recomend this or the 'bluetac' method ? Not done camo before, paint cars and enclose another type of 'tank' I have just done for my bike !. Thanks for the help :D

Andicog,I like the Jagdpanther although the color seems a little off.I have taken pictures of my TIGER and just by changing the direction the color seems to change. On another painting subject I could use a custom paint job on my bike,I really like the way you bleed the black into gray on your bike. The paneling with the bolt heads had to be difficult to paint, excellent work on the Jagdpanther and the bike.Sax
