UNSAFE SITE TOPIC
Posted: Fri Nov 13, 2009 1:32 am
hi guys,
mesa made a whoopsie
i moved the unsafe site thread to the errors board, and it left a 'shadow topic' (a post saying it had moved)
however for some reason it left 2 of them, so i removed one, and it removed both, and the orriginal thread. ...
dammit, that will teach me for trying to administrate a forum at half one in the morning after doing 6 hours of constent mind boggeling work ....
sorry guys ... i deserve a slap :~ :~

EDIT : i managed to press the back button on my browser till i landed on the topic, unfortunatly i couldnt restore it so coping and pasting in every post is the best i can do

Don't panic too much, a girl in work had this last night when accessing recipe's on the BBC site. I had it too months ago. I did some research when I had the problem and discovered that it was down to some numpty at Google who had reversed the flagging system for suspect sites, every site listed in my Google searches was coming up as a dodgy site.
I suspect that it has happened again and that it will be rectified within a day or two after the web spiders have done the rounds again.

don't know why its happeneing, i havent got any errors and i certainly know that i havent put anything on the site thats harmfull.
its probably just the .co.cc domain, because its a free thing its linked in the background to the .co.cc free domain website, so thats probably why.
cheers,
Matt

Norton should be classed as a virus itself, AVG or Kaspersky are much better.
Cheers,
Rik

i have had a friend, who made a website and for some random reason AVG flagged it as unsafe. (not scooby)
Thus meaning that anybody with AVG was unable to access the site, because it blocked it for 'security reasons'
he contacted avg, and they ran a test of the site, cleared it as safe and fixed the system,, not even they knew why their system had automatically flagged it as unsafe.
this could be an example of this, however with different security sweets.
just thought id put that out in the open,
like BREL said, abo good on you for bringing this to our attention.
i am for now moving it to the errors board, as i thinks that's a more appropriate place
cheers,
Matt
