Both are French, a major in the 6e Chevau-Légers Lanciers and a lieutenant in the Middle Guard.

Thank you for posting the photos. Over 50 years ago I painted a 57 mm Landsknecht (16th Century Germany Mercenary) and a WWII DAK figure. When I went of for college, teaching, graduate school, etc., etc., etc., a friend kept the two figures. In the 1990s Al McGuire of Marquette University basketball fame told the same friend's wife that he collected figures. She gave mine to him. The Landsknecht was wonderfully colorful with dagged sleeves.
