Greetings Tank gurus. Have just picked up a old Matotorro Strumtiger. Still in its original packaging and not used? Original battery which is on charger now to see if it takes charge.
Q1, will I be able to switch over to Lipo of correct voltage.
Q2, leave original factory paint or change to ambush pattern or german yellow.
Probably paid 2 much £175 \$350 ozstralia. But rare here in Australia.
Any suggestions.

1) I've never seen a 9.6V Li-po or Li-ion, but it doesn't mean they don't exist... check Amazon

2) I like the paint job as-is... has a nice finish

I think that is one of the original Sturmtiger releases as it'a Matorro and not just a Torro or Taigen. You can use a LIPO or a Li-Ion battery, but the main control board does not have a low voltage cutoff. You want to know before your batteries drain too low if you run lithium based packs or damage can occur. You can connect a low voltage alarm to the pack which will beep when the battery is getting too low and therefore prevent damage.

Dud battery( is 20 years old????)
