Got myself a good deal on a Torro Tiger II Pro edition.
Its the unpainted version and i am wanting to give it a late war camo like in the attached picture.

Only problem i dont have an airbush, so ill have to do with rattle cans.
I painted my Tiger I years ago with rattle cans (only one color though) but i imagine with masking it should be possible.
Or do ya'll recommend i brush paint it?

anyway, does anyone happen to know which rattle cans match the german colors?

Hello, the ideal tool is still an airbrush, but some on this forum use spray cans (Tamiya, Valejo, etc.) with good results. Check out the "Tips and Tricks" post; there's a subforum called "Painting/Aging" where you'll find many answers to your questions.

you could use a spray can for the yellow brown over whole tank then brush paint the camo pattern
The colours i used on my KT are
Tamiya Yellow brown XF92
Tamiya olive drab XF62
Humbrol Army green M102
looks as shown below they are the colours that the Heng long KT came in
Of course you could substitute tamiya red brown instead of the olive drab

That was painted with an airbrush and is called "soft edge or diffused edge" camouflage, but the pattern could be painted with a spray can it's just not easy to accomplish the diffused edge. I've tried it every which way till Sunday with varied success but it's particularly difficult with canned spray paint because of control and volume of paint put out by the spray can.

BUT Later War King Tigers and Panthers were painted at the factory with what's called "hard edge" camouflage.

You could invest in some camouflage putty and either try the soft edge or just go with the hard edge. There are videos that show how this is done on Youtube.

But as my friend Mr. Bix told me the whole time I was experimenting and struggling with spray cans. If you want those kind of results you Need an airbrush. Thankfully stubborn old me finally listened and got an airbrush and compressor.

+1 for cheap airbrush and compressor - I started with a basic Harbour Freight compressor and double action brush set, and its still functional over 15 years later. I'm sure somebody will be along in a minute to tell you that their favourite <insert brand name here> set is much better than the cheap crap out there, but honestly we ain't doing fine art here - and you can ruin an expensive airbrush just as easily as a cheap one if you don't take care of it.

Sure I'll dazzle with my elite equipment, I got a Gaahleri brush on sale for $29 and a Timbertech compressor for $89

I can't even remember what I paid for my "Hazard Fraught Tool Co" set, but I suspect that it would make most of us sick if we were to look at todays prices

My favorite Tools? Rattlecans or some paintbrushes. I have a nice Compressor and Airbrush but still drive my old Friends to distraction by favoring my antique methods.
