Hello gang!!

I've fired up the next project I want to document!!! Its gonna be a late production Jagdtiger. Right now it has a kwk 43 in it (they made some ok) and the photo album im saving the pictures in is titled 305082.. but im not 100% sold on the "little" gun...

I got this jagdtiger for a great deal. Its my cheapest one. It needed a new asiatam recoil unit and a speaker.

So the first move was swaping in a TK 7.0 and repairing the damaged parts. Well I ordered a unit for a kingtiger and it came with the 8.8 barrel. I had read of the 8.8 jagdtigers and thought that'd be unique....

When the KT ring made the stock gun mantlet work perfect!! The 8.8 jagdtiger was born. And I put a fictional scheme on it cuz I was liking some ambush dots.

Im behind the actual process of the jagdtiger in this build log i got it this spring and it was at this point in about August. I played with it until about a week or 2 ago got started doin it. I made some serious progress today ill have it up to date in the next day or 2!!!ImageImageImageImage

Ok let's get to some late production mods.

I went off the one they have there in Russia beings its 305083 one of the last ones to be made.

Also referenced my schwere jagdpanzer library. Which consists of Karlheinz Münch's works of art history of 653 and 654. Both Andrew Deveys jagdtiger books . Spielberger's heavy jagdpanzer book. And a few other smaller books like tankcraft which is a series I enjoy.

Am I missing any good reference books for jagdtigers or elefant?

I'm thinking the stugg abt 197 book by Münch will be my next purchase. Any books have decent record of s.pz.abt 502 after they got king tigers???

Anywayzzzz

I added the 8 points on the roof for the crane.
The double handles on the driver's and radio man's hatch
Added a handle above the back door
Removed MG mount off engine hatch.
Removed blocks off the back
Removed jack
I think that might be it

A late production mod im not doing is the little mud guards in the front ate connected in a different way ill put a pic up im putting a few mudguards on the side and thats it no fronts prolly....

Also started cutting

Slid the casemate back birthed the King elefant no no no got plenty of real tanks to build before fake ones

Nice to see another Jagdtiger project. I wanted to do a late production myself but I couldn't remove the jackblock off of the very cracked rear plate without destroying it so had to settle for 331 that has been done a thousand times :D. It is one of my favourite tanks in my collection and with the DKLM PDSGB steel gearbox it might be the best driving one as well. Especially considering the size and weight of the JT model. I am now working on my next project, a Taigen Sherman 76 so the massive cat has something to prey on :D

Thank you!! Yours is top quality!! Th e jagdtiger shoot thru a house and then a sherman hahaha and I aint kidding ya!!! I forget the date but thats documented hahahahah I wanna do a M4A176 "In the Mood" Layfette G. Pool. And Red stars for the cats to eat Image

I like 331 cuz its well documented and you can go see it!! Ive got a little bit of a jagdtiger buying issue and have 2 more stock torros left after this.... I was originally thinking Albert Ernst X1 and 331 but I was gonna start 331 with everything in white primer do it current or i guess 1990s configuration/scheme. I figured when I got tired of thats all the body work would be done to switch it to '45 with a paint job. But I've been in the books ive got another commander picked out from 653. That went from kursk-45. It'll be tri fect a of heavy tank hunters!!!

But i do have 2 and that are still making them ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
