Was researching German camo patterns
and they mention this yellowish color.
I admit I'd never heard of it.

Need for help finding this color preferably in acrylic.
Keep in mind I don't air brush.

Can I mix colors?

Thinking of this color as a base coat for my next
tank project.

Vallejo Spray Dunkelgelb Panzer Dark Yellow 28.001
Tamiya TS-3 Dark Yellow

RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb was the standard German base coat colour from early 1943 until late 1944 and was used until the end of the war in patches.

It along with RAL 6003 Olivegruen and RAL 8017 Rotbraun were the primary colours used by just about every German vehicle post February 1943 until wars end.

I use Tamiya XF-88 "Dark Yellow 2"

As I do not airbrush too, I always use the Fosco Army Paint rattle cans.
Here‘s an example of it on one of my tanks:

I use tamiya XF92 yellow/brown and its a really good match for the heng long colour

The Model Masters brand ( Now sadly gone ) had their Desert Yellow \ Dunkelgelb which was my favorite in a Rattlecan. Nowadays I use the Tamiya TS-3 Dark Yellow. Here is one of my older Builds using the Model Masters as the Base Coat:

Sadly up here in nanny state Canada we can no longer get Tamiya TS-3. So I am going to experiment with some Vallejo sprays. There is Panzer Yellow which seems to be like TS-3 way too dark, Desert Sand isn't bad but still like Tamiya it's a bit green and then there is Dead Flesh which I think with the right wash might be the most accurate of the lot

The hazard ingredient in the Tamiya sprays was banned in Canada in 2010. Probably didn't pop up on Environment Canada's radar until 2023-24 when Tamiya paint was then not allowed for import. I think it was a Harper nanny state back then...

You could go to Home Depot or Lowe's and get some Rustoleum either the 2X Painter's Touch or even the tan or khaki from the Rustoleum Camouflage line.

STHV explained the color well.

Since the OP doesn't have an airbrush, rattle cans seem to the be the logical/illogical choice

The Vallejo looked promising but it's about $12 per can and a dealer was charging $10 for shipping to me when I checked. That's some expensive paint.

OP stated acrylic, I'm assuming he wants water based. The Vallejo is just that. Tamiya is solvent based lacquer.

I remember really liking the option when I saw this brand awhile ago then seeing that it's only available in Europe...

"Dead Flesh"? I'm sorry, Really Dead Flesh is the name of the paint color?
