'Afternoon All,

About a year ago, my younger brother purchased a Torro Leopard 2A6 MBT (389B-B1) and it's been causing him grief ever since.

We're unable to get the upper hull to seat properly on the lower hull, and the latches will not engage. The other problem is with the main gun and sound - or lack of it. When the left Tx stick is pushed forward, the recoil works, but no sound or strobe flash!

When we mount the IR unit on the turret, as soon as the throttle was advanced (fwd or revers), the main gun would "fire" (sound) without recoil or strobe flash), and it would continue to "fire" repeatedly, when the tank was in motion!, when the IR unit was removed, this repeated firing would cease.

What is causing this, and how do we correct it? Any suggestions?

Body fitment is a case of making sure nothing is getting in the way and checking the pins and front piece is fitted correctly manual for the kit can be downloaded from link below a way to check if the pins line up is take the turret off and feel with your fingers if they are going into the latches. Or not sure if the rear panel come off the torro lower is to remove it if it does and look in to see.

As for the no flash or gun sound when firing could be the microswitch on top of the recoil unit not being triggered when the recoil hits it. As for gun firing sound when driving thats an odd 1 not a fan of Taigen boards so don't know much about them

Your problems could be related. Sometimes the wires in the chassis can get in the way of the latching system, and sometimes the plugs can get pulled loose.

I would check all of your connections on the Taigen V3 MFU in the chassis. Occasionally you get a bad egg as well, so if you’ve checked everything else, it may not be outside the realm of possibility. But usually this is not the case.

For the latches not latching, I have this problem often because I pack tons of electrical add ons in the chassis of my tanks. If you haven’t already, I usually will insider the clip at the front of the chassis and put the back end of the chassis at eye level with a flash light and slowly lose the back end and watch to see if wires get pushed into the latch area, preventing it from latching. There’s been tons of times when I couldn’t figure out what’s getting in the way, just keep working at it and be patient. Wire management with little zip ties and/or cord covers could help prevent this from happening as well.

I also assuming the front latch is seated properly, and the back latch spring is functioning properly, you could also check those if you haven’t already.
