Hello All,
I found the forum while looking for information on r/c tanks; Google works, I guess.

I've seen useful information here on a few of the models I am looking at, thank you guys!

I picked up a HengLong 1/24 Leopard. Playing around with it a bit. Waiting to see if it's the gateway drug or will be the lone tank in a collection of r/c cars.

Cheers,
Zoo

Hello! As you might imagine, for most of us here, the first one was, indeed, a "gateway drug." Me? I just got drug into it.

Hello and welcome from Argyll and Bute. This group should definitely be considered a support group. This lot have been trying to ween me into their nefarious ways, with Tiger 1’s for ages. I’ve not seen a 1/24 Leopard. So we need pictures, or they don’t exist. I can thoroughly recommend a 1/16 Leopard 2, with a Challenger, T72, T90, and a Centurion.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Where are you in the world? Nothing specific necessary, but helps us send you in the right direction for the nearest...dealer.

1/24 is indeed a gateway drug, typically quickly followed by mainlining 1/16. Some even go on to freebasing 1/10 or tweeking 1/6. Complete withdrawal is rare, although some success with half-tracks to reduce the jonesing has been reported (K. Taigan, H. Tongde et al., "Why So Many Tanks in Pieces?" AMA Journal, 2023 vol 7 ser.VII).
