A small distraction

Hi folks,
Thought i would share a few pics of something I got distracted with a little while ago, it was a complete basket case when i got it ( as most of my stuff is ). Stripped and in lots of broken pieces.
So it got put back together, with metal tracks, idlers, sprockets, upgraded springs and steel ball bearing gearboxes, the 27 meg radio was removed and a Taigen V2 or 3 not sure added with muzzle flash, re painted and i wanted something different than your usual Panther G, so looked around and found some info that stated that in Italy April 1943 to try and counter the Allied increasing Air threat from aircraft that Jagdpanther and Panther tanks in this area would be fitted with increased air armour protection on the upper sides of the hull and turret as this was their weakest points so they fitted additional armour plate over the vulnerable areas in an attempt to help protection in these areas, engine deck air grills and vents etc plus turret top, from what i could see it was simple steel sheet welded into place probably left over skirts from the sides as the air threat was more pressing and rather hastily fitted hence no painting just bare steel that rusted.
I am no Panther expert Or any for that matter so am prepared to be corrected on this, but they did exist.
So enough of my blathering a few pics.
Regards
Sub.
