Griffys Coolbank M5 Stuart

Post by PainlessWolf »

Good Evening,
Just a short couple of Pages showing work on Grifters M5 Stuart. So far, Markings and some cover paint for Screws have been accomplished. A better 30. Cal Browning MG was sourced from Battleground Models and painted and installed. Same with an accurate Antenna and Exterior Wiring from the same source. Tonight, I painted and installed 3 metal Periscope Guards ordered earlier in the month from Tank Modelbau. That turned out well so I added some modded ( clipped and filed to size ) Periscopes that were painted and blue lens color penned in ( by Sharpie ) The last thing I have to do to this Tank before it finds its way onto Griffys Desk is add a working Searchlight. More on that in a bit.
regards,
Painless

well look at those fun little bits.

Nice touches.

I do like the goodies I've gotten from Battleground models.

Good Morning Gentlemen,
Yeah, I did not want to go crazy with Detailing on this Tank. it will not see a lot of use unless I round up the mate and have him bring it outside to run while I am testing some current Build. I did want to have the eye drawn to some added 'fun and wee' Detailed bits when he was looking at it and showing it off to Friends online. Thanks for looking in, it is _always_ appreciated! Now to go wake Ecam up and see how he powered the Spot Light on his M5.
regards,

I added the periscope guards to my M5, but not the periscopes inside the hatches. It's good to see that Tank Modelbau is shipping to the U.S. I just got a sale come-on from Torro (in Germany). Out of curiosity, I check on what shipping to the U.S. would cost, just for small parts. No Go. Torro doesn't show any choice for shipping to the U.S.

My spot light is not powered has some simple silver paint for a reflector. You have the ultimate yard for test driving tanks. Do be careful of the quick sunburns that can happen at altitude.

Good Morning!
Dominique at RCTanks.DE no longer ships to the US either. Tank Modelbau is very helpful in shipping direct. ForgeBear is a Huge Boon as well! Their expanded inventory covers some Ground for Modelers. Thanks for the heads up, Ecam! I'll have to figure out if a light can plug into the board anywhere or be soldered like the Crusader light is.
