Mulling over ideas

Information/advice needed

I have my usual 3 projects on the go however I have hit a bit of an impasse with two of them. One is driving to drink and the other breaks every time I touch it. So I have decided to put them down a while. So I need a simpler project or two to get me restarted.

Idyll curiosity lead me to do a bit of research and would ask the following questions

Has anybody any experience with the Hooben 1/16 VK 45 01. I have built the Hooben Elefant and it wasn’t too bad.

Has anybody ever built a Porsche Jagdtiger. It seems fairly straight forward except for the suspension and wheels. I think I could use the Elefant suspension units available to 3d print off Cults. The wheels could be tricky. I could turn aluminium discs and try and make a detailed insert to 3d print. (Or should I say get son to CAD some and then 3 d print them)

Whilst we are spoilt for choice with Panther G’s has anybody ever done a model/kit/conversion kit for a Panther Ausf D or A?

As I say I just mulling over a few ideas.

I've not done any of the above but have you looked through these threads?

Thank you for that, I appreciate you response. Perhaps my enquiry was too brief I apologise. I had already searched this site and others looking for up to date information.

Some time ago I found a chart of the Tiger Family showing the 10 members of the Tiger tank Family. I know some people may take umbrage with the chart but I like it. I realised I had 8 out of the 10. All I am missing is the Porsche Jagdtiger and the VK45-01. I thought it might be a good project to finish the set, albeit a little expensive. Hence my rather brief enquiry.

I was already aware of the problems with the Hooben suspension breaking and I have read with interest the article on this forum where people have 3d printed replacements. This is especially interesting as I have the Hooben Elefant and I may need some to build the Porsche Jagdtiger. I suppose what I wanted was a succinct recent review of the 45-01 kit. Is it reasonably accurate, ie is the turret in the right place, does it have the correct amount of wheels etc, etc. Is it a rubbish kit to be avoided. Is it accurate and can be built as is or does it as I suspect require some work.

I already have a Henschel Jadgtiger converted from a Tamiya KT, it appears most people go with the Henschel version, obviously the Porsche chassis is very different hence the enquiry. I know that in real life they used a modified version of the Elefant suspension units. I think ( I could be wrong and don’t quote me) the general geometry of the units is the same although the Jagdtiger has much bigger and heavier duty bump stops. So I could use the Elefant suspension units with scratch built road wheels with a modified tracking and idlers

As for the Panthers. I have a Tamiya Late G,,,,,, I was just day dreaming
