Hello,

here´s a simple Guide to varnish your Tanks or Cars.... Thanks to my friend Frank, who has the courage to give his scratch-built 1/16 38-T in my Hands :D

1. Step - The Primer

It´s necessary to clean the face before (for example with Isopropylalcohol)

2. Step - Preshading the borders

Because this Tank will be varnish in Grey, I use a black colour. Also for green colours you can use a black colour. For German sand or tritonal Camo it´better to use a dark brown.

3. step - Base colour

Brush the base colour cloudy such you can see cloudy the Preshading

4. Step - Highlights

In the middle of the shets who are bleeching out of the sun brush cloudy a little bit of the base colour who is lighting with white ...

That´s all ;) If you want make a colour sheme, you can do it after this steps. To Highlight this is the same: each colour is for himself to highlighting.

Here is one Pic after finishing this Tank:

Please excuse my terrible English - German or French is easier for me :S
(Maybe one of the Mods correct my spelling mistakes O.O )

Greez,

Erik

A fine Technic it is, I used this on my first tank as another member suggested this method,my last few I used a series of lead pencils to highlight the seams and surface changes. Then the base coat and some pastel highlighting.

But I must say your method is brilliant, and produced a fine Gray finish, very fine likeness.

Have you any ideas for the lighter tan colors of the late war German Armor you might share? Thanks Saxondog
