My Custom Taigen Tiger I

Hello Guys

I ordered an early version of a Tiger I from Heng-long-panzer.de in March 2023 and have continued to modify it... including an optional smoker, metal track links on the lower hull, and metal track links on the turret. It's not based on any real-life model; it's my own build. I hope you like it :)

I was wondering how difficult it is to replace the Taigen V3 board with the Heng Long 7.1 board? Is it simply plug-in-play, or do I have to resolder the cables? Will the cannon smoke still work then?

Since my Tiger I has a desert camouflage pattern, I wanted to ask how to best age it. What method do you use and which is the easiest?

Thank you for any Help!

Nice Tiger. As you take more images of her, hopefully out in the wild we have the Tiger 1 thread going in the Show Off. It would definitely fit in there with all us fans of Tiger 1's.

"I was wondering how difficult it is to replace the Taigen V3 board with the Heng Long 7.1 board?" I have done so: you will need to change out the motor and battery connectors. (It's doable for even a retired professor.) If you don't plan to used any servos, you can use a HengLong TK7.0. But depending on just how precise the control, of turns and speed, you might be just a well off with the Taigen electronics and sound. I would only change out to HengLong 7.0 (or 7.1) if the Taigen board were pre-V3 with the separate sound module.

"Will the cannon smoke still work then?" Maybe someone can answer this question better than can I. Certainly HengLong 7.0 and even earlier support barrel smoke and recoil.
