OMG make me very jealous, because I don't have the patience to go to those extra ordinary lengths to get a well detailed model

I only wish I had that much talent and a machine shop to hand. All the same a very nice build with a heck of a lot of time and effort put into it.

This fellow has a lot of skill, and what an eye for detail.I'm sure we all wish we had the access to machining tools and equipment but having the skills and the imagination to use them only comes with experience.Great restoration hope to see more as he progresses.Saxondog

And that lads is why we won the war. We make tanks, germans make works of art.

There was a time when the best modellers in the business were in the model railway or scale truck hobbies, but I have to say that within the last 12 months I have seen some absolutely astounding works of art from the tank hobbyists. Has the hobby 'come of age'? It certainly seems to be attracting a wealth of talent.

Your definitely right there! Armour modelling has come leaps and bounds. It doesn;t hurt that we've got some great new stuff to detail with, and fantastic finishing products. The Tamiya and Mig Production products have allowed new levels of detail to be added in the painting, and the aftermarket parts have allowed tiny and functional parts to be added.

I know some of the Aircraft guys are jealous of the stuff we get to weather and paint our tanks with, lol. ;) Mind you those guys create some fantastic works of art, and are no stranger to super-detailling! 8O Their far more finicky about accuracy thatn we are though.

Cheers,
Rik
