Toying with the idea of buying my first 3D printer

I'm very nervous about setting off into the hobby of 3D printing but I'm really curious.
I guess the main thing is heading down the right route to acquire the right printer that's adequate for my needs but also fairly straightforward to use.
Is it a complicated hobby to learn and are there any recommended resources please for me to perform research ?
I've seen a web site on here that sells plans for 1/10 armour - that looks mouth watering to me.

If you want a printer that is easy to use and quite reliable, choose Bambu Lab.

Steelhammer: Go for it! Because of space, time, and money, I decided (reluctantly) to forgo it. But it's the present and future of modeling with burgeoning resources.

Thanks Gents for your comments. Bambu labs printer looks like a great option. Space is an issue for me as well but I'll have to make some somehow.

Just hooked up my Bambu X1C today, printed a starter turtle. Looking forward to printing more tank related things. Trying now to figure out what modeling program I want to try to learn, trying out design spark, but I know there are a few favorites out there.
Any suggestions from anyone who’s already been down this road?

I totally agree about getting a Bambu printer. I have the P1S and it prints part very well. And if you don't plan on printing large parts, I know some places where you can get an A1 Mini and a AMS (allows you to switch filament in the middle of a print) for about $400.

I’m the same as Mr Bix. To old and stupid to use one.
At work they made computer stuff idiot proof. Then gave it to me. Working in the theory if the made it Meter Rat proof, it would be definitely idiot proof.
I dread to think how annoyed, and how much swearing

would get with a printer.

Don’t toy just buy. Don’t do what I do though and keep breaking it. I tend to over work mine as there’s so many things I’m trying to print
