Well the weekend of the Ashbourne show is up on, I’m about to head up there and start setting up but for anyone who can brave the predicted weather it’s going ahead.

The location Darley Moore airfield Ashbourne
The running days sat and Sunday. Full details on their Facebook page for times.
What to expect. A host of wwii era vehicles reinactments stalls and models, with a Lancaster flypast on both days. Whether permitting I expect.
Flypast time was announced on Facebook.

What to expect from me. If the weather is to be as predicted, a miserable wet individual with a bunch of rc tanks, ranging from pziii to king tiger and from crusader to Churchill. With a few Sherman’s and t34 in between. I will try grab some sneaky photos as we set up between showers

Nice set of tanks there.
I used to live a couple of miles outside Ashbourne when I was a kid.

Despite the weather they had 350 cars this year so not a bad turn out for a wet weekend

Perhaps it was wet, but the fields were certainly verdant. :P I especially like the matching Crusader, Fireflies, and Co.

Ah yes the crusader the a2 the a1 and Matilda the crusader at the moment is at the moment by far my fave to look at but for driving it’s the firefly or t34 that get used most as the are the best runners

Love the winter camo T 34 in the fifth picture.

Anything since 2019?

The whole thing was sprayed white then for the weathering bottom was painted mud brown and the top was dry sponged, just putting spots of paint around the hull and turret and dabbing with a makeup sponge till blended in giving the look I wanted

Darley Moor was my local racetrack, when I lived in Derbyshire. Raced AJS, Triumph, and MZ there a few times.
