Hi. New young member from Somerset here just getting started and looking to learn as much as I can before buying my first 1:16 model. Anyone in the South West know of any clubs or groups where I could meet other local hobbyists?

Welcome! Since I am far across the sea, I'm no help at RC tank clubs for you. (Indeed, it's hopeless here in Wisconsin, too.). Someone in the UK should be along soon. If you are o.k. we like to know a bit about what you would like to get and what you'd like to do. We make no requirements except cheerful fun, and we respect questions (and accept all well-intended answers, too).
Oh--you are in a good place for RC tanks! I wish I had such great dealers nearby.

Welcome from NJ, USA.
Let us know when you jump in.
The only bad questions are the ones you don't ask.

Pictures of your initial purchase and progress always appreciated.

H D P, Same with me. I'm 1 hr from NYC and 1/2 hr from Philly and alas no club.

thank you, michaelwhittmann and Herr Dr Professor, I'm only just starting and here to learn more about this hobby. I will be asking questions and advise as I get to know more about the hobby and narrow down my tank choice. I also have created a small post called newbie questions.

Hello and welcome from Argyll and Bute. Unfortunately I am at the opposite end of the UK to yourself. I think there used to be a tank club in the Bristol area. I think it may have fallen pray to the Covid epidemic.
