With the Mato sherman now due there would appear that a number of tamiya shermans are up for sale on ebay , so those of you that would like a tammy version now would be a good time to bid.....................

I have noticed that myself, but I think I will wait on bidding on a Tam Sherman, because the prices could fall even lower. If the rumours are true and subsequent Mato/HL Shermans are produced with Tamiya IR compatibility. Can you imagine the advantage in your bidding / bargaining hand. Now what would really put the cat amongst the pigeons, is if HL/Mato convert their whole Tank range to Tam IR compatibility. it wouldn't only be the second hand/new Shermans that would come down in price.

Who knows, might just be wishful thinking on my part 8o| 8o|

I have seen them on Ebay too, but to my way of thinking, if I can get a cheap Sherman new for way less than £100 it would be a bit daft to pay more than £100 for a Tamiya? At the end of the day I have no reservations about making a battlefield weary tank out of something that didn't cost much, but would hesitate before doing that to a £300 Tamiya.

On top of that, battle systems, metal tracks and accessories for a Tamiya would soon push the price right up whereas the market will be flooded with cheap Mato Sherman parts in the coming months. I can also fit my Elmod kit in a Mato Sherman and end up with a Sherman that has the correct sounds, the right suspension, more functionality, and the look that I want. If the Tamiya top hull fits the Mato lower then the advantages of buying the Mato are enormous.

It's a win win for me, though others may have different views.
