Tank Traction

So I drove my abrams on grass that isn't super tall and the tank can't turn in place, the track turning starts to slip. I don't suppose there is a way to fix that issue?

What tracks? Plastic, metal, metal with pads?

More information is required to offer up a solution, such as track, drive sprocket and gearbox type. Metal or plastic, there are several factors that could be causing the issue, or it could just be that the tank simply can’t turn on the spot on grass due to its size.
I have a torro t34, that will do it easily
I have a torro is2 that won’t. Due to its track design, size and weight. Both tanks are the same spec,
But… my Pershing will because of its track design

Photos may help aswell so that the Abraham’s guys can see if your track tension is causing the problem

Plastic tracks with steel gear box, Both Leopard and Abrams I got from Motion RC. I should also mention they are Henglong.

Chances are the tracks are getting snagged on the grass which is causing them to slip. Over time these tracks will eventually snap or strip your gearboxes. So as with any tank, it’s would be advised not to pivot on grass

Is your track slipping on the sprocket, or physically slipping on the grass? If it is slipping on the sprocket, you may need to tension the track. If it is slipping on the grass through lack of traction, then you will need to change your driving style. Do not do pivot turns, do wide gentle turns. Sometimes you just have to accept the tracks can not give enough grip, to turn the tank.

I have a pair of these fitted, to both my Abrams, and Challenger. The proviso is, that they can give to much grip, in certain circumstances.

Cheapest solution though is to alter your driving style. Even my little WPL E1 will slip, when turning.

Budget is issue though, those tracks cost almost as much as the tank. But on another forum I was told metal tracks and road wheels would work with the v2 version of Abram and Leopard
