Historical Hysterical Haya Goodies

Post by Herr Dr. Professor »

A decade or more ago, I bought from Andrew Haya a few of the rebuilds he was then selling. Yesterday, I dug one out and found that I still get a kick out of it. This was a HengLong Sherman modified to a small hatch and painted in a camouflage scheme for which I don't know the correct term. It runs on the first non-crystalline ;) HengLong MFU. The gun elevation does not work (I cannot recall if it ever did work); I removed the smoke unit as impossible to fill anyway. Anyway, for gits and shiggles, here 'tis:

Inspired by the Grant at Bovington?

Are you going to revive it with modern electronics?

Oh, that M3 looks great! I like the brown added in! I had intended to leave it as I received it. But seeing the brown tempts me. (Adding the brown would require some tricky masking, and I'm spoiled by the ease of using an airbrush, but those doggone sharp lines... :problem: )
I wonder what might be the least expensive way to upgrade the electronics (and get the turret elevation to work. Maybe later this year...

I'm by far no means a Sherman guy but I do appreciate it's quirky look!
