Hello! i am preparing to build a M113 Following the build guide shared to me on my introduction post, so far ive got a good understanding of things but as this is my first time wiring a tank i have a question. In the attached SS is the connection between the board and battery shown on lmcq11's guide, the board has male t style plugs, what is the name of the adapter that will allow me to connect the t style plugs to the battery Molex connector? sorry if this is a dumb question and thank you in advance
i reposted this here i as just found this more relevant section for my question

The red T plug is known as a Dean’s connector. It looks like whoever did this just crimped on Tamiya molex pins to the other side of the wires coming from the other half of the deans connector, then covered the junction between the two connectors with heat shrink.

You can probably find a Deans to Tamiya adaptor plug if you don’t want to get the parts to make it yourself, you just need to make sure you find one with the correct gender for the deans and the Tamiya.

I would recommend going with a LiPo battery instead of a Tamiya plugged NiMH, it’s a better style of battery. If you do, you can find LiPo batteries with a Deans connector on the end, negating the need for an adaptor plug.

I am no wizard at converting electronics, but I think I see a Tamiya (on the left in transluscent) and a Deans (on the right in red) with an adaptor in the middle (in black). I ran a quick search online and found lots of potential sources for Tamiya adaptor.

Instead of using the adaptor, I would cut off the Tamiya connector altogether and solder the wires into the other half of a Deans connector.

:O Hello, assembly is strange to say the least, and risks of false contacts are multiplied. Personally, I agree with and confirm the opinion of "Mr. Professor" replacing the Tamiya connector with a Dean one would be more serious. Tamiya has not evolved for years with this type of plug. This is why many Nimh battery manufacturers deliver with a Tamiya / Dean adapter, but this still does not solve the problem of risk of false contacts.
